His words made me cry

I'm reading: His words made me cryTweet this!

I came across this old prayer written by one of my boys in first grade, after our pet fish had died.

Dear God, Our Creator,

Thank you for letting us afford things like pets and letting us be rich in love.
And letting animals and pets live long enough for them to be a memory to us.

I don't think my wizened tweens would open up their souls like this today, which makes me sad.

Wow. That's really great. I hope he does still write, even if he doesn't show his mom....

How precious!
I was married for 12 years (husband died in 2003) before we had kids. We had 2 dogs & 6 cats when our daughters were born so those girls have had to say the final goodbye so many times.
They are9 & 11 now. Our older dog had a stroke summer before last and it hit the 3 of us pretty hard. Younger girl said that God can't let our pets live as long as people so we can help more animals. Made sense to me!

Hi, Kim. I hope you don't mind, but I thought this was so sweet that I shared it on The Animal Store Facebook Page.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

Oh, how sweet. You should frame that. Especially during these rough economic times, it's more important to remember than ever. Thanks for sharing it with your readers.
